> Challenge

“A man's soul is within the walls of his house. It hides in every corner, in every object. We use them to express ourselves, they calm us down after a long day.”

Anita Horváth, the dreamer of Daru Home Decor, contacted us in the spring of this year to create the brand identity of her business. It was clear from the name that we had to start with some kind of interpretation of the crane.

The meaning associated with the crane most often are luck and good blessing. We believe that Anita's creations also function as kind of home blessing this way.

> Outcome

During the logo design, we strove to capture the crane bird, which plays an important role in Japanese culture, in the simplest, most elegant line drawing possible, and to include an organic design that allows us to show the characteristic, perfect-imperfect face of handmade products.

When choosing the font style, we tried to evoke the shape of the brushstrokes - which also reflects Anita's 3D paintings - but choose typography that radiates order and calmness too.

During the logo design, after many iterations, we concluded that the rather characterful emblem and font should be co-existed in such a way that they do not extinguish each other's values, so the crane bird can express the values represented by Daru Home Decor by becoming a kind of permanent graphic element and label as well as a seal symbol.

Anita's creations combine the trinity of craftsmanship, uniqueness and calmness, besides they can be beautiful decorations for any apartment.

We sincerely hope that we were able to contribute to the soaring of the crane!
